Well... You'd think that I would have made this before... and I have. But... I was too impatient and stuffed it up.
First, I didn't wait for it to cool down AND didn't realise it is a sticky dough - so thought I'd stuffed up.
The second time, I had let it cool right down, but had not put the flour in... it's too late then LOL
There is no mucking about with this recipe.....The third time I followed the recipe! It was perfect, SO easy! SO quick and Sooooooo yummy!
This is an idea I saw on the telly the other day - put it in a circle and then, when cooked, fill it with a mixture of 1/3 lemon butter and 2/3rds whipped cream.
LESSON: don't make it bigger than any plate you have to serve it on!!
HINT: Let it REALLY dry out. When it is all brown and dry to touch. Pierce it with the tip of a knife to let the steam escape and then switch off the oven and let it/them sit in the oven as it cools down
HINT: The choc decoration was easy to do actually. I got the idea from Junior MasterChef (How can those kids KNOW that stuff!!!??) Put a couple of blocks of chocolate into a plastic bag. Sit the bag in hot water until it is melted. Cut a tiny piece out of the corner fo the bag and use it like an icing bag!
HINT: My mum used to fill these with strawberries and cream!!!!! YUMMMMMMM, but if you like custard, use the creme patisserie recipe in the everyday cookbook.
