This is from the new "Travelling with Thermomix" cookbook - which is just fantastic! I did have mine for a few weeks..... but recently gave it to one of my hosts. LOL - I miss it already.
It isn't (as I though originally) for caravaners and campers... but is packed full of international recipes It is large hard cover book and a great gift idea - even if you buy it for yourself! I don't think it is available yet, but will be very soon.
These were SO easy and absolutely delicious!! Nutritious too, with the chick peas in with the meat. They made them really moist, even later when cold. The flavour was really magic!
Actually, It was the first time I had tried to mince meat with the Thermomix (remember my wonderful hubby is a butcher) and it was SO easy! Remember your maximum weights for mincing (250g for meat) at a time. I did a kilo, in batches, in less than 2 minutes.
The balls were made in another few minutes and they they were cooked in another 10-15. I cooked them earlier in the day and then warmed them slightly for dinner MM MM MM!!!!!. They were wonderful the next day, cold, on sandwiches too! I can't wait to get my NEW book so I can do it all again!
And the sauce? Fabulous! and I don't even LIKE yogurt! It is nice on it's own, would be fab with seafood or... well... anything really! Even as a dip!
HINT: don't want to make little balls? Try making a meatloaf out of the meat.
HINT: the balls would be great as part of Yiros/Souvlaki style wraps
