This recipe is from the Thermomix Forum. First of all, let me break the myth... the story of how this came about is urban legend and just isn't true.
That doesn't mean that they aren't fantastic!!
I like them because they are tasty, John likes them because they are not too sweet. They are also sneakily healthy (ish) with the ground oats and the nuts.
The second lot I did (the first lasted only a few days!) just increased the vanilla essence to 2 tsps (made myself thanks to the Thermomix forum and Gretchen!) and they are delicious! I did increase the chopped nuts to compensate.
HINT: use turbo (1 or 2 seconds only) to chop the nuts... or you could end up with nut flour like I did at first. (no probs tho... just add more nuts LOL)
HINT: I just set the Thermomix to reverse for the last bit - adding the choc chips and nuts - and the spatula. I didn't have any problems.
HINT: at our Foodland we can get cooking chocolate in buttons about 1.5-2 cm across. I use them for choc chips! Cheaper and yummier and more chocolate component... what's not to like!!
