I had a guest at a demonstration recently, who asked about the play dough. I had only heard how easy it was, my 4 year old Niece had made some at her friend's place (who's mum had a thermomix) so I knew it worked well..... but I hadn't actually made it myself.
So I thought I would - So I could tell the guest (who had booked a party) how easy it was.
As for easy. It was. Dead easy! Although, I found that the recipe didn't have enough flour in it and I needed to add another 50-60g of flour at the last stage before it was a good dough.
So - what do you do.... cook the salt, water and cream of tartar - add flour - WAIT - knead in some oil.
IF - after waiting (the dough WILL thicken up anyway) and the kneading the dough wis still sticky, add another 50g of flour and knead again for 20-30 seconds.
To colour it, I put a 1/3 of the dough back into the Thermomix, added a few drops of food colouring and then kneaded for 20 seconds or until combined. Then I repeated that with different colours for each third.
The Thermomix rinsed out all the leftover bits and colour VERY easily and was brand spanking new looking in seconds.
The picture below is of the whole batch which I separated into 3 lots of 3 to take to demos.
