Ah.... Sausages in brown onion gravy. The ultimate in comfort food. Rich, tasty, filling and just darn YUM!!
Pre-Thermomix, this was one of my 6 recipes. That's right, I had 6 recipes. My girls didn't starve... but variety was something that happened in other people's houses.
The original recipe was from my cook book bible... the Women's Weekly Favourites book. Worn and weary after 20 odd years in my kitchen.

The Magic Bean cake??
Sounds like something that was popular in the 60's right? Well.... if they named the bean in the title, most of us would have turned our noses up and it would be a lonely, unused recipe lost in cyberspace.

I love Annabel Langbein's recipes. Why? Personally I am not a "flavours-must-balance make-it-look-pretty use-fancy-ingredients" cook I'm a "get something from my cupboard and make it taste good" cook. Annabel Langein's recipes are all down to earth, easy and tasty!

People are often surprised when I say I do my stir fried veggies in my Thermomix. Easy. Yum - er... actually not yum... DELICIOUS!

These are dead easy - fabulous to eat too and impressed everyone who has tried them so far (which number in the dozens). One thing to note is that it makes HEAPS - but they keep very well so that's good.

Amy left a comment on Lemon Merangue post - about Millionaire's Shortbread. She described it as shortbread base, caramel layer and choc top. Sounded fantastic so I tried it!

I was making some butter the other day and I was thinking of the different types of butter you can make. Then it occurred to me... why not save time in the mornings - and blend your Vegemite directly with the butter!
When I make butter, after the final wash, I normally put a little olive oil in and a little salt - then blend for 20-30 secods on speed 6. That works great to make it a little easier to spread from the fridge - and quite a smooth spread overall.Read Full Post »

I was set a challenge by my Sister-in-law. Nutella equivalent with no nuts!
I had thought of a couple of different seeds to grind instead of the hazelnuts (chick peas for instance) but I kept coming up against the flavour aspect. It should taste of something other than chocolate OR taste too healthy!

Well.... as mentioned, I wasn't much of a cook before the wonders of Thermomix. But one thing I could make was scones! Someone a long time ago (so long I forgot WHO!) gave me a recipe for Groovy Scones and they are absolutely delish!

I had a request to make salads for a friend's birthday last weekend.... 80 people! How easy was it in the Thermomix!!!!

I just LOVE pate - pepper pate is my FAV! I haven't found a really nice pate for ages and have stopped buying it - not the least because a good pate costs a fortune!!

I make this quite often actually. I would never even have tried it but for someone else giving it to me and I tried it to be polite. YUM!
This recipe is in the Everyday Cookbook - the one you get with the Thermomix in Australia.
Why wouldn't I have tried it? Well... not a major fan of tomato soup, and lentils? Aren't they something the Hari Krishna's use??

This is a recipe from the Thermomix Meat On The Menu cookbook.
I normally cook the Morroccan lamb on the other side of the page and kept overlooking this recipe, however I kept thinking I had BETTER try it!
I was glad I looked at the recipe early, because you have to marinate the meat - so allow for that in your cooking.
