I was wandering... lost.... through a search engine one day and I came across a website for the Thermomix that had this amazing looking recipe that I thought would be just the thing for when my sister came to visit.
I got the recipe from this website, which seems to be a website dedicated to a thiermomix Team Leader's team of Thermomix consultants, but was open to other Thermomix users.
Easy to make? Heck yes!! Look fancy? Even MORE of a Heck yes!! I love things that are both easy to do but look REALLY hard to make. Makes me feel important :-)
Nothing to it really, just follow the recipe!.
LESSON: do all the grinding first
LESSON: I would not worry about the shape of the swirl until it has been in the fridge for a while - once it is firm it is easy to make a little rounder through rolling on the bench a bit - mind you, as you can see from the pic below... they are a little wonky even then - nobody minded
LESSON: feel free to make it well ahead of time and leave in the fridge until ready to slice and cook - I'm wondering how well the dough would freeze, then you'd have them whenever you want... althought to be honest? They only took a couple of minutes - it was the waiting until it firmed in the fridge that took the while.
LESSON: use the cocoa... I thought I would use real chocolate and ground that... but I ended up adding some cocoa because (DUH!!) it is the contrast of the dark and the light that makes it look great. Not the light and the also light with choc speckles.
