Honey Ginger Barbecue Sauce

mm!  this is delicious and makes quite a bit.  Use it as a marinade too - easy and YUM!!

Honey Ginger Barbecue Sauce


• 15g Sesame Oil
• 1 onion peeled and quartered
• 3 Garlic Cloves, peeled
• 800ml tomato sauce (commercial or Tomato Ketchup from Everyday Cookbook)
• 125g Apple Cider Vinegar
• 155g Honey
• 15g of fresh ginger, peeled
• 45g Hoisin Sauce
• 15g (1 tbls) sweet smoked paprika
• 5g pepper


Put Onion and garlic into Thermomix and chop on 6 for 10 seconds
Scrape down the sides

Add sesame oil Sauté on 100oC, speed 2, for 5 minutes

Add the rest of the ingredients, cook on 100oC, speed 2, for 20 minutes

Pour into sterilised jars
