This was given to me by one of my new clients - Anne - thanks Anne, this is going to be one of my favourite recipes!!

200g Naval orange (1x medium orange)

175g butter

3 eggs

220g sugar

250g SR Flour

Pre-heat the oven to 180oC

Wash, then Chop the orange roughly and put into Thermomix

Mince on 5-6 for 10-15 seconds until fine

add rest of ingredients

Mix on 5 for 30 seconds

Pour into a lined cake tin and cook for about 45 minutes

Once it is cooked LEAVE it in the pan for 5 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool.

HINT: would be delicious warm with some citrus sryup

HINT: Try some other fruit instead of Orange, it is DELICIOUS made with strawberries (it is in the oven and smells DIVINE!!!.

Thank you so much for this recipe. My six year old daughter requested strawberry cupcakes for her birthday party - this recipe came up when I googled "thermomix strawberry cupcakes". I substituted the 200g of orange for strawberries and it worked a treat. I only had plain wholemeal flour, so used it plus 2 tsp baking powder and had no problems. As cupcakes cooking time was 20 minutes. All got a big tick of approval from the party guests :)

I'm not sure if I did something wrong, but I followed the recipe to the letter, changed oranges for strawberries ... And the result was not good. After 45 minutes the came was raw, and although I left it for an other 30 minutes, the inside did not seem to cook... Very dissapointed, was looking fwrd to enjoying this cake:(

Nope :-). Just give it a scrub (unless you KNOW there's no wax) and use it! The skin, which I would EXPECT to make the cake bitter, doesn't!
