Rice Milk

Who would have thought it could be this easy!!!  I was paying $3-$4 for rice milk a litre..... now it would cost me approx 20c.

A friend, very rightly, recently said that we have been fooled into thinking that we have to buy items from the shops because they dress it up into fancy bottles / containers / advertising and we don't realise that we could do it ourselves so easily!

The recipe is from the Vegetarian cookbook

  1. rinse the rice first and then soak in a glass with a little bit of water.  It doesn't swell up much so that is fine
  2. put the entire glass (with water) into the Thermomix for it's first grind.
  3. now that I have re-read that... I do not mean put the glass itself in, just the contents :)
  4. let the mixture cool completely before it's second grind... that takes away the small "bits" that are barely noticeable, but may put off some people.
