Syrian Chicken

What I love about the Australian Thermomix recipe website www.recipecommunity.com.au - is that you can put in a couple fo the ingredients you have and it comes up with recipes with those ingredients!!

I wanted something a little different so put in chicken, chilli, onion - and one of the recipes that came up was Syrian Chicken!

YUM!!!  The recipe says, don't be put off by the large list of ingredients because it is easy - and the recipe author was right!!

In taste, it is a little like Moroccan Lamb in the Meat lovers cookbook, but it is different enough for you to do this one instead.  The lemony flavour is a wonderful contrast.  

I used a whole, small, chilli (not a fireball one, just a small chilli) and it gave a good heat without being a burn.  The lemon with it gave it a LOVELY (in John's words - he's the proper cook after all) complexity.  In my words - it was delicious!

I used a bit more chicken than mentioned so I cooked it a bit longer at the end - 15 minutes rather than the 6 mentioned.  It also says leave the MC off - I didn't do that and the mixture ended up very liquidy.  I didn't mind that actually because we had it with rice and it was a lovely sauce for it.
